How We Met
Steph and Ben may not be traditional high school sweethearts but their story does start there. After meeting at the Grade 11 Semi Formal, Steph and Ben became best of friends, bonding over their shared love of travel and competing over who had been to more countries. Despite talking every single day there was nothing romantic between them at the time. Their friendship grew over the years, with some ups and downs, but still there was always this unbreakable connection between them. Years later, and with a little liquid courage, they finally realised that they were a little more than friends..
The Proposal
In true Ben style, his proposal was going to be grand, after all he did take Steph to Paris 3 months after dating. Steph & Ben had planned a quick trip to Canada and the USA in April 2025, planning to visit Vancouver and Austin in the short time they had. After landing in Vancouver, Ben with the biggest smile on his face, tells Steph that they aren't actually staying in Vancouver but were actually getting back on another plane and going to Banff. Steph was immediately suspicious of the surprise and then the next day, in front of beautiful Lake Minnewanka, Ben got down on one knee, holding a little blue box with Steph's perfect ring.
