We recommend staying in the nearby town of Menton. Menton sits on the French-Italian border, just a short drive or train ride from Monaco and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. Sheltered by mountains and overlooking the Mediterranean, it enjoys a mild, sunny climate year-round. Visitors can stroll through the charming Old Town, explore Menton’s seafront promenade and relax at its pebble beaches. With a number of  excellent restaurants and bars it makes a perfect spot to spend an afternoon or evening. The town is easily accessible by train with two train stations located across the town with regular services across the French Riviera. 

A trip to the French Riviera would not be complete without a visit to Monaco. Whether just a day trip to walk the track and visit the Prince's car collection or for those who wish to stay and try your luck at the casino and F1 driver spotting in the square, we highly recommend a visit. If you are staying at the Maybourne Riviera, they offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from Monaco. 

Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is the nearest international airport, located about 30 minutes away.
If you’re arriving via other major airports such as Paris Charles de Gaulle or Milan Malpensa, the train is the most convenient way to reach the French Riviera, taking a few hours and typically involving at least one connection.

The train system along the French Riviera makes traveling between towns easy and convenient. With tickets available through the Trainline app and frequent services connecting each destination, we highly recommend using the train during your stay.
